Arsenal and Liverpool target won’t go cheap.
Swansea City want a fee of at least £10million for defender and captain Ashley Williams, who is wanted by Arsenal and Liverpool, according to Sky Sports.
The 28-year-old has been in fine form for the Swans since they made the step up to the Premier League, helping them to the top half of the table this season as well as leading them to glory in the Capital One Cup.
His form has not gone unnoticed, and both Arsenal and Liverpool need to strengthen in defence for next season.
The Gunners may lose Laurent Koscielny, who is a target for Bayern Munich, and Thomas Vermaelen may be sold by the club after a drastic drop in form since being made captain this season.
Liverpool, meanwhile, will wave goodbye to the retiring Jamie Carragher at the end of the season after 17 years of outstanding service. The defender turned 35 this year and has decided to call time on his career, leaving the Reds short at the back.
Williams is seen by both as an ideal target, but won’t come cheap as Swansea look to push on under Michael Laudrup. However, given their impressive form, they may have to fight off bids for their other top players, such as free-scoring Spanish striker Michu.
