Emirates Stadium side linked with tough tackler.
Arsenal are reportedly interested in Stoke City midfielder Steven N’Zonzi according to the Daily Mirror.
The 24 year old former Blackburn Rovers star has put in a transfer request to leave the Britannia Stadium but that was swiftly turned down by chairman Peter Coatest.
This source claims that an offer of £12m from Arsenal could convince the Potters to sell but one wonders if Arsene Wenger would be willing to fork out such a fee, after all the former French Under 21 international only moved to Stoke City for £3m less than a year ago so it seems unlikely that the North London side would offer four times that fee this summer.
N’Zonzi hasn’t had the best of debut seasons at Stoke City and with Tony Pulis leaving the club the tough tackling midfielder may well be keen to leave, especially if a move upwards was on the cards.
Steven N’Zonzi spent three seasons at Ewood Park prior to moving to Stoke City and played 96 times for the club before they were relegated to the Championship in 2011/12.
Arsenal could well do with an out and out defensive midfield signing as they are yet to adequately replace Alex Song, who left for Barcelona last August.
Wenger is also said to be interested in Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba.
