Celtic defender Efe Ambrose believes it would a huge blow for Celtic if Victor Wanyama left the club this summer according to Goal.com.

Wanyama has been linked with a host of clubs throughout Europe, including Arsenal, Tottenham and Inter Milan.

The midfielder has said that he will stay at Celtic for the coming season but Ambrose fears the lure of bigger clubs may turn Wanyama’s head.

“It will definitely be a massive blow for the Celtic family if Wanyama leaves,” said Ambrose.

Wanyama has had a very impressive season at Celtic Park especially in the Champions League.

He played a key role in beating Barcelona at Celtic Park during the Champions League group stages.

Now it appears that clubs from across Europe are set to bid for the midfielder.

Arsenal are thought to be front-runners for Wanyama’s signature, although the midfielder is reportedly interested in a move to Italy with Italian giants Inter Milan interested in the Kenyan.

Newcastle and Southampton have also been following the situation involving Wanyama and could make a bid for him although the lack of Champions League football at both clubs may put the young midfielder off.

Either way Celtic will have trouble holding on to one of their best players.
