Catalan club eye two ‘keepers.
Barcelona have confirmed that they are looking at signing two goalkeepers as a replacement for the outbound Victor Valdes, talkSPORT reports.
The Spanish champions are looking for a successor to Valdes after he confirmed that he won’t be signing an extension on his current deal which expires next summer, though the club are unsure whether to sign a new custodian this summer or wait until next year.
Valdes has suggested that he could stay and see out the final year but it now appears that Barca may decide to cash in on him now and bring in two new custodians in his place.
Spanish newspaper El Mundo Deportivo believe that they want to bring in Liverpool stopper Pepe Reina as a ready made replacement for the 31-year-old whilst they will also spend big on Borussia Monchengladbach’s Marc-Andre Ter Stegen as a long term successor to Reina.
The 21-year-old made a comical error for his country in their defeat to the United States at the weekend but has earned a number of plaudits for his mature and impressive performances for his club this season.
Arsenal have also been credited with an interest though it is thought that he would prefer a switch to the Nou Camp to learn under Reina with the view of becoming thier number one in the future.
