Polish striker reveals desire for new challenge.
Borussia Dortmund striker Robert Lewandowksi has intensified speculation that he is on the verge of leaving the club after admitting he is looking for a new challenge according to Bild.
Lewandowski is currently one of the most sought after strikers in Europe after a number of impressive displays for Dortmund over the last few seasons.
His goals helped fire Dortmund to the Champions League final although the club could not overcome their German rivals Bayern.
Bayern may be about to inflict additional pain on Dortmund as they are one of the front-runners to sign Lewandowski. The German champions have already confirmed they will be signing Mario Gotze after they activated a release fee clause in the midfielder’s contract.
Dortmund would prefer Lewandowski moved to someone other than their Bundesliga rivals though which could pave the way for a non-German team to swoop for his signature.
Manchester United are known to have shown an interest in the player with Lewandowkski thought to have been on the verge of a move to Old Trafford up until it became clear that Robin Van Persie was available.
Lewandowksi is likely to be available at a cut price as he has just one year left to run on his current deal.
