Stevan Jovetic has confirmed that he will look to leave Fiorentina this summer, but that Juventus is his preferred destination, not Arsenal.

The Montenegro international has been linked strongly with the Gunners for a number of months, but is quoted in the Metro as saying he sees his future at Juventus.

The 23-year-old has developed into one of Serie A’s best players in his time with Fiorentina, but he now believes he has given all he can to the club, and spoke very fondly of Juve manager Antonio Conte.

“I gave my all to Fiorentina, but Antonio Conte could help me grow at Juventus,” he said.

“I have been at Fiorentina since 2008 for five very intense seasons. I feel I have given my all – and I have nothing left to give here.

“Juve have been after me for a year, and they say they want me and that I’m a top target. Who wouldn’t be flattered by that? I want to move there so I can grow.”

This will come as a blow to Arsenal, who have been keen to add a striker to their squad this summer, and who also look like missing out to Juventus for Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain.

Chelsea had also been linked with a late move to hijack a deal for Jovetic, but it is clear now that he will be staying in Italy, leaving both Premier League sides to ponder new targets.
