Barcelona look set to make an offer for Chelsea striker Fernando Torres according to Sky Sports.
The Catalan club will look to offer Chelsea £17 million, £33 million less than the Blues payed for Torres 2 years ago.
Torres currently holds the British record transfer fee, so losing £33 million for the player could put Chelsea off accepting the bid and they may ask Barca to pay more.
Sky Sports reporter Graham Hunter said “Barcelona do want to add a centre forward and are in the process of selling David Villa. Although they have added Neymar and have a replete armoury of different kinds of strikers, they do want a No 9”.
Barcelona have admired Torres for a longtime, with the player having scored against them many times.
The club also feel that Chelsea will be willing to let Torres go because new boss Jose Mourinho wants to sign at least two new strikers during the summer, meaning there may be no place for Torres at Stamford Bridge next season.
Chelsea have reportedly stepped up their interest in Napoli striker Edison Cavani and the Uruguay international is seen as the clubs main target this summer.
However, Chelsea can expect to face stiff competition for the striker from Real Madrid and Manchester City.
Edin Dzeko and Hulk are also targets for Chelsea this summer.
