The defender plans on spending the rest of his career at the Nou Camp.
Barcelona defender Gerard Pique has said that he wants to retire at the club and has no plans to leave according to Goal.com.
The defender has been linked with a move back to the Premier League following a series of below par performances for Barcelona and reports suggested that Pique was open to a return to England.
However, Pique appears to have put those rumours to bed by saying that he wants to stay at Barca for the rest of his career.
“Barca are my family, my life. In life you never know, you cannot say you’re not going to do. It’s true that [my future] depends on many factors, but come on, the club are my life, “said Pique during a press conference.
The news that Pique is staying will help Barcelona plan for the future with manager Tito Vilanova keep to establish a central defensive pairing that he can rely on.
Since Carlos Puyol’s injury a number of players have played at centre for Barca, including midfielder Javier Mascherano.
It now appears that the club want to sign a new defender that can be paired with Pique and have been linked with many of the top centre backs throughout Europe including PSG’s Thiago Silva and Borussia Dortmund’s Mats Hummels.
