Hull City look set to sign Scotland goalkeeper Allan McGregor according to Sky Sports.

The goalkeeper, who currently plays in Turkey with Besiktas, is keen on a move back to the UK  having failed to settle in Turkey following his free transfer from Rangers last summer.

Hull boss Steve Bruce sees signing a top goalkeeper as a priority this summer and McGregor is one of Bruce’s main targets.

The players agent confirmed that a move to Hull was very close for McGregor.

“Negotiations with Allan are progressing well and there are no major obstacles to a deal being done,” said McGregor’s agent Dave Baldwin.

“Allan is keen to play in the Premier League and very keen to play under Steve Bruce, so now we just have to push the talks forward.”

Hull were promoted to the Premier League on the last day of the football league’s season, pipping Watford to an automatic promotion place.

Now experienced manager Steve Bruce is determined to keep the club in the Premier League and signing a dependable goalkeeper like McGregor will help the club stay away from the relegation places.

Bruce also wants to sign a striker this summer and is interested in Celtic’s Gary Hooper, although Hull are set to face competition from Norwich for the English striker.
