Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has apparently been a very busy man over the past 24 hours. The Russian billionaire flew out to Israel on an entirely non-football related matter but still managed to find time to develop his interest in a trio of Spanish talents according to El Mundo Deportivo.

Abramovich was in attendance at the European Under 21 Championship Final and was paying especially close attention to three players he hopes to lure to West London this summer, those players in question being Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata, who finished as the competition’s top scorer, Malaga youngster Isco and Barcelona midfielder Thiago Alcantara.

Roman Abramovich is known to be looking to continue his youthful transfer policy, clearly having been encouraged by the signings of Eden Hazard, Oscar and Cesar Azpilicueta last summer, and has already sewn up the deal to bring in Andre Schurrle from Bayer Leverkusen and now has his sights firmly set on this young La Liga based trio, who are clearly players returning Blues boss Jose Mourinho knows all too well.

Morata Germany

Bernabeu starlet Morata is struggling to make an impact at Real Madrid and additional striker purchases by re-elected president Florentino Perez are very likely, this could leave the 20 year old considering his future and he could perhaps be persuaded to reunite with Mourinho at Chelsea.

The instinctive finisher has more than proven himself in Real Madrid’s ‘B’ team, netting 12 goals in 18 matches last term, and Morata could indeed boost Chelsea’s attacking options.

Harder nuts to crack could come in the form of both Thiago Alcantara and Isco, both of whom are strongly linked from the Nou Camp and La Rosaleda respectively, and have a number of prospective suitors monitoring them with great interest.

Isco Holland

Malaga youngster Isco is being courted by Man City, where former boss Manuel Pellegrini is of course now in place as Roberto Mancini’s replacement.

Alcantara can be picked up for a very affordable €18 (£15.4m) as this is the release clause that many sides are reportedly ready to trigger following the midfielder’s apparent decision to seek a new challenge away from a Catalan side he has struggled to break into with any regularity.

Given that the 22 year old has the likes of Xavi, Andres Iniesta and Cesc Fabregas ahead of him in Tito Vilanova’s pecking order it is perhaps a sensible decision to consider other options this summer.

The classy midfielder captained Spain to the European Under 21 Championships, leading from the front with a hat-trick in the final.
