Sheffield Wednesday only survived on the final day of the season in 2012/13, and will be hoping to avoid the drop again with plenty of quality opposition ahead of them at this moment in time.
They have a difficult opening game away to Harry Redknapp’s Queens Park Rangers side, who have just been relegated but who have plenty of quality to be among the favourites to go back up to the Premier League.
They will then face other promotion hopefuls in Burnley and Leeds, and will need a result against fellow strugglers Millwall on the 24th of August.
It could go down to the wire again for Wednesday, and they have some difficult final games, with Charlton, Bolton and finally Ipswich.
