Tottenham boss Andre Villas-Boas has said that he will be staying at the club despite being close friends with Paris St Germain president Nassar-Al-Khelafi, Goal.com reports.

The former Chelsea boss reportedly rejected the chance to move to PSG this summer, with the French champions offering AVB a highly lucrative contract and the chance to sign some of the world’s best players.

AVB says that despite his friendship with the PSG president, he will be staying at White Hart Lane this summer.

“I have had a friendship for some time with the president of PSG. He is a friend, [we] speak regularly but my commitment is with Tottenham,” Villas-Boas told A Bola.

“It was the club that allowed me to return to the Premier League and I feel good there.”

AVB  nearly guided Spurs to a place in the Champions League, with the club being narrowly pipped to fourth spot by bitter local rivals Arsenal.

The Portuguese coach expects to be backed with plenty of money to spend in the transfer window and looks set to sign a quality striker to push the club further towards the Champions League.

Spurs have been linked with moves for Barcelona’s David Villa and Internacional’s Leo Damiao while they will almost certainly sell Emmanuel Adeybayor, who looks to be bound for Fenerbache.
