Arsenal look set to offer Arsene Wenger a new contract, with fears that Paris St Germain could be lining up the Frenchman to take over next year, the Daily Mirror reports.

PSG president Nassar-Al-Khelaifi is a long term admired of Wenger and his style of play and has noted that the Frenchman is out of contract next year.

The French champions look set to appoint Laurent Blanc as their new manager, with Carlo Ancelotti going to Real Madrid but have only offered Blanc a one year contract, leading to suspicions that the former France captain is only keeping the PSG hot-seat warm for Wenger.

The Gunners are aware of PSG’s interest and look set to offer the Frenchman a new contract to stay at the club for at least another three years.

They hope that the massive transfer budget that Wenger has available this summer will help to persuade the Frenchman to stay at the Emirates and not move to big spending PSG.

The Gunners look set to sign at least one of Wenger’s targets this summer, with Gonzalo Higuain’s transfer from Real Madrid all but complete.

Everton midfielder Maurone Fellaini could follow, with Arsenal having had a bid of £22 million accepted by Everton.
