Arsenal will offer QPR £1.5 million for goalkeeper Julio Cesar after weeks of speculation that Gunners were planning on signing the Brazilian international, the Daily Mirror reports.

Cesar is understood to want a move to Arsenal as he is now settled in London and would like the opportunity to play in the Champions league again.

QPR are hoping to get the Brazilian off their wage bill as they prepare for life in the Championship.

Cesar was one of the only positives to come out of QPR’s season after the keeper made a series of fine stops in several games, however that wasn’t enough to keep the Hoops in the Premier League.

Arsene Wenger has identified Cesar as the perfect keeper to be their number one next season following a series of dodgy displays from Wojciech Szczesny during last season.

The Gunners have been slow to make a move for Cesar, who has been their number one goalkeeping target for months but it now looks like the Gunners will make QPR an offer they are unlikely to refuse due to their need to trim their wage bill for next season.
