Thiago Silva’s agent has claimed that the player will be staying at Paris St Germain this summer despite reported interested from Barcelona, Sky Sports reports.
Silva signed for PSG in a £36.6 million move from AC Milan last summer and he snubbed an offer from Barcelona to join the French club.
One of the main reasons for Silva joining PSG was that Carlo Ancelotti was their manager but the Italian has now left to join Real Madrid and reports have suggested that Silva is feeling unsettled at the club following the Italian’s departure.
PSG President Nassar Al-Khelaifi has already had to deny that a deal was in place to let Silva go to Barcelona and the player himself stated last week that a move to the Spanish Champions would be a dream.
Silva’s agent Paulo Tornetto has moved to end the rumours about Silva moving to Barcelona and claims that the defender will see out the remainder of his four year contract at PSG.
“Thiago Silva is a Paris Saint-Germain player, he is under contract and he will honour that,” he told the club’s official website.
“Rumours are rife, as they were last year, but he is a Paris Saint-Germain player and he will see out his contract.”
Reports have suggested that Barcelona will make a move for Silva if he lowers his wage demands, a sticking point that prevented the defender moving to Barcelona last summer.
