French club angry at reports linking defender with La Liga champions.
PSG have lashed out at Barcelona over reports they are keen to sign centre-back Thiago Silva according to Goal.com.
Barcelona are known to be interested in bringing in a new defender as they prepare for life without the ageing Carlos Puyol.
The Catalan giants are reportedly keen to bring in a defender who will easily be able to adapt to team’s passing style of football and have reportedly identified Silva as their man.
That prompted Silva to admit he would be tempted by a move to Barcelona, which has infuriated PSG President Nasser Al-Khelafi.
Al-Khelafi has insisted that Silva will not be sold to the La Liga champions and instead revealed that he has his eye on a number of Barcelona players.
He suggested that Barcelona will be the club struggling to hang on to their players if PSG decides to declare their interest in signing them.
The Qatari chief went on to insist that the club have no intention of putting an end to their summer spending spree, despite having lavished close to £55 million on the signing of Edinson Cavani from Napoli.
The club have been closely linked with a move for Roma’s young Brazilian defender Marquinhos and are expected to make their move in the coming days.
