Parisians hope Blues will allow playmaker to leave for that amount.
Mega-rich Ligue 1 outfit Paris Saint-Germain are the latest club to express an interest in unsettled Chelsea midfield player Juan Mata, according to reports in the Daily Express.
The coveted Spain international has been the subject of much speculation of late linking the 25-year-old with a possible shock move away from Stamford Bridge during the summer transfer window, with the likes of Premier League giants Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool all having reportedly been keen on landing Mata recently.
And with the wide man having also just been omitted from the Spanish national squad for their upcoming World Cup qualifying double header, those stories of Mata’s imminent departure from Stamford Bridge have only since increased in volume.
However, the west London club have been insistent all along that the twinkle-toed playmaker will not be allowed to leave during this transfer window, although their stance may soon change if the big-spending Ligue 1 champions do follow up their reported interest in the player with an actual bid.
Chelsea are believed to value Mata at £40 million, having originally bought the winger for £23.5m from Valencia two years ago, but that is a figure which the Parisians are said to be more than happy to meet, which could make the the last few hours before the window closes very interesting indeed.
