Top Spanish paper reveals shocking answers.
A poll conducted by Spanish newspaper Marca has revealed that the majority of Real Madrid fans believe that star goalkeeper Iker Casillas will join arch rivals Barcelona if he is allowed to leave the club in the near future.
The 32-year-old’s future has been the subject of much speculation so far this season as he has continued to sit out of the club’s season behind Diego Lopez and many believe that he will try to seek a move either in January or next summer.
And a recent poll conducted with 26,000 Marca readers, the vast majority of whom are Real Madrid fans, revealed that most believe he will join Barcelona if the time comes for him to move on.
An astonishing 11,000, representing 45% of those questioned, all believe he’ll defect to eternal rivals Barcelona.
The next clubs on the list were Arsenal (31%), and Manchester City (10%), followed by Bayern, Monaco and Juve, who all received a minority of the backing.
Though it is unlikely that Casillas would move to Barca, the Catalan giants are still seeking a replacement for Victor Vales, who is still insisting that he will be leaving at the end of the season for a new challenge overseas.
