One can only assume that the 25 year old Gunners flop was merely joking when he responded to media reports as to where he may end up moving to should he indeed leave the Emirates Stadium, as many predict, in January.

The Danish international has found himself back in the Arsenal first team set-up due to a lack of attacking alternative available to Arsene Wenger, with Theo Walcott and Lukas Podolski both out injured, leaving Bendtner to act as a back-up option to French international Olivier Giroud.

Responding to criticism that only his wage demands had prevented an Arsenal exit over the summer the giant attacker stating when asked if he was merely chasing the money;

‘I do not. It is the sport that is the most important.

‘I’m going somewhere where I know I can be happy to play. With a team where I can score goals and preferably to win something.

When asked how he envisaged his career would continue, the striker said: ‘Real Madrid or Barcelona.’

Bendtner’s last Premier League goal for Arsenal came in December 2010.
