Cavani was thought to have been a top target for the Stamford Bridge outfit last season before he joined the side from the French Capital for a fee worth in the region of £52m.
However, reports in both France and the UK are claiming that the 27-year-old wants to quit the defending Ligue 1 champions at the end of the season, paving the way for a move to west London after all.
Blues boss Jose Mourinho has refused to be drawn in on the speculation linking the player to his side, but close friend and agent Francois Gallardo has admitted that Cavani is unhappy at the club and will look to move on in the summer.
“There is a player of the squad at PSG who is not comfortable and wants to leave called Cavani,” said Gallardo.
“If clubs want to sign him – it would soon be time to make a move.”
However, any move could see the Blues forced to pay out over £50m for his signature, as PSG will not want to lose out on what they paid for him last year.
But Chelsea are desperate for a new striker have have also been linked with Atletico Madrid’s Diego Costa and Liverpool’s Luis Suarez.
