Arsenal have set their sights on Swansea City striker Wilfried Bony as Arsene Wenger looks to strengthen his attacking options according to Football Direct News.

The North London club have been overly-reliant Olivier Giroud, who as a result has experienced something of a dry patch up until his recent brace against Sunderland, and a move for reinforcements must be Wenger’s main transfer priority this summer.

Bony has had a successful first term in the English top tier, scoring 10 goals in 23 Premier League appearances and an impressive 18 goals in all competitions.

The departure of boss Michael Laudrup could leave Bony open to a move away from the Liberty Stadium and interest from Arsenal will surely tempt the former Vitesse Arnhem man.

The Powerful 25 year old could help offer Wenger a direct option up front and given the injury issues suffered by both Lukas Podolski and Theo Walcott, both of whom have spent large portions of the season out injured, a move to bring in Bony could be a sensible opton to pursue.

Swansea City sit just four points clear of the drop zone and clearly Bony would therefore have to be interested in a move to a side that could offer him Champions League football.
