The Gunners have announced a pre-season friendly against Thierry Henry’s New York Red Bulls in the Big Apple.
The match, which will take place on 26 July at 5pm local time (9pm UK time), will be Arsenal’s only friendly outside Europe.
Red Bulls captain Henry scored 228 goals in 377 games for Arsenal before leaving for Barcelona in 2007.
The former France international returned to North London on loan from Red Bulls in January 2012.
The Frenchman has been playing in New York since 2010 and told the Arsenal website: “It goes without saying that hosting Arsenal at Red Bull Arena will be a special occasion for me both on a professional and personal level.
“As I have said before, the club is in my heart and this will be another terrific chapter in my relationship with Arsenal football club.”
Gunners chief executive Ivan Gazidis added: “We enjoy fantastic support [in America], and in particular New York, so we are looking forward to providing our fans with an opportunity to watch them play live.”
The match will be Arsenal’s first visit to the USA in 25 years.
