Emirates Stadium boss told that the clock is ticking on his future…
Check in to Wigan Athletic vs Arsenal
Arsenal have given boss Arsene Wenger two weeks to decide his future at the north London club according to Football Direct News.
The 64 year old manager will see his current contract expire this summer and despite lengthy ongoing discussions on the matter, no new deal has been agreed with the long serving boss and now the club’s board want Wenger to inform them of his intentions within the next two weeks.
There may well be some unhappy Arsenal fans who would prefer the club to instruct the manager as to their intentions as opposed to the other way around, such has been the anger directed towards Wenger in recent weeks.
Big defeats to top clubs have not only derailed Arsenal’s Premier League title hopes but there is no a very real danger that Everton may well pip the club to that all important top four finish.
Wenger enjoyed a great deal of success in the opening half of his 17 year association with Arsenal but eight seasons without silverware have taken their toll and even if the club did secure an FA Cup triumph this term one imagines the lack of a Champions League berth could prove the final straw.
