The north London club managed to overcome holders Wigan Athletic on penalties in the FA Cup semi-final on Saturday evening at Wembley Stadium after the tie had ended 1-1 in normal time.
And now the Gunners have the chance to get their hands on their first piece of silverware since they beat arch-rivals Manchester United on penalties to win the 2005 FA Cup final when they take on underdogs Hull City next month.
However, before they make their return trip to the home of football, Arsenal owner Stan Kroenke and chief executive Ivan Gazidis are understood to be set to sit down with Wenger at some point this week in order to ascertain whether or not the 62-year-old will be remaining at the Emirates next season or not.
“The result of the final will not have any bearing on my future. Mentally it was important we didn’t go out tonight, the consequences if we had lost would have been worrying,” said Wenger after the match on Saturday.
