Arsenal crock Abou Diaby’s long awaited return to the first team has been put on hold after the midfielder picked up ANOTHER injury in his comeback game for the under-21s.

Diaby has not played for the Gunners for over a year after rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament but the 27-year-old Frenchman had expressed a desire to play for the club before the end of this season and even harbour hopes of being including in Les Bleus’ World Cup squad.
But Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger confirmed the player would miss Monday’s home match with Newcastle after picking up a groin strain in a 45 minute run-out against Chelsea on Tuesday.
Diaby’s contract with the North London club expires at the end of next season and the midfielder will be hoping to return to his best next term after a solid pre-season for the club.
