Emirates Stadium side set to welcome in pair who are on World Cup duty.
Arsenal are set to welcome in a number of summer signings as Arsene Wenger looks to freshen up his Emirates Stadium squad and the north London side already has deals in place to bring in two players who are on World Cup duty.
CaughtOffside understands that Wenger has secured moves to bring in QPR forward Loic Remy and Toulouse right-back Serge Aurier, who will be representing France and Ivory Coast respectively at this summer’s finals in Brazil.
Wenger has provisionally agreed to meet QPR’s £14m valuation of 27 year old forward Remy, who more than proved his Premier League credentials during a season long loan spell at Newcastle United last term.
The former Marseille man netted 14 goals in 24 top tier starts and is likely to play a prominent part in Didier Deschamps national team set-up at the World Cup.
Remy’s interaction with Olivier Giroud in recent warm-up games is said to have given Wenger the push to finally make a concrete offer for the long term target.
Having failed to retain the services of veteran right-back Bacary Sagna, after months of attempting to tie the defender to a new deal, Arsene Wenger will fork out the £8m needed to bring in young Toulouse wide-man Aurier.
The 21 year old has impressed over the past 18 months and is seen by Wenger as a young talent who can battle England man Carl Jenkinson for the right-back berth in 2014/15.
Arsene Wenger will look to bring in the duo once the World Cup finals have been completed.
Wenger may have opted against taking up Arsenal’s first option to re-sign exit bound Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas but the Gunners boss is still looking to bring in a ‘Marquee’ signing to help better link midfield and attack and has been linked with interest in the likes of Julian Draxler, Antoine Griezmann and Marco Reus to fill just such a role.
Arsenal are also thought to be in the market for a strong tackling midfielder to replace Mikel Arteta, who was largely ineffective last season, with Southampton’s Morgan Schneiderlin and Bayer Leverkusen star Lars Bender said to be on Wenger’s radar.
