Ligue 1 giants looking elsewhere for new custodian.
Arsenal and Manchester City have been put on high alert after it emerged that Monaco have pulled out of the race to sign Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdes, according to Inside Spanish Football.

The 32-year-ol was being primed to join the Principality side over the summer after his contract with the Spanish giants expires, but the move has now been put on ice after Valdes tore ligaments in his knee, which have sidelined him for six months.
Facing the real possibility of becoming an unattached player whilst nursing the injury, some sources in Spain have reported that Barcelona would offer Valdes a new deal should no other offers come in for him over the coming months.
Monaco have now seemingly backed out of an agreement that was all but done to land his signature, but that hasn’t stopped Manchester City and Arsenal from maintaining an interest, and the pair will no doubt be buoyed by the news that the Ligue 1 giants have dropped out.
Both sides have been linked with moves for new goalkeepers after Arsenal lost Lukasz Fabianski to Swansea and City have had form issues with Joe Hart.
Both may look to snap him up on a free transfer and wait for him to return to full fitness.
