Rodgers is said to have offered as much as £16m for the Spanish youngster but could perhaps consider changing the subject of his focus to the Dutch international, who had an excellent game last night as his Netherlands side blew away Spain in a thumping 5-1 victory.
Blind provided a superb assist for Robin Van Persie’s brilliantly headed goal against Spain and put in a solid display on the left flank and could perhaps be ready for a fresh challenge.
Daley, son of former Ajax great Danny, Blind has represented Ajax since the age of eight and the 24 year old has won four successive Eredivise titles and may be tempted by a move to Liverpool.
With first choice left-back Jose Enrique missing most of last season through injury Rodgers is openly pursuing a replacement for the Spaniard, with England international John Flanagan perhaps being switched to his more natural position on the right in preference to inconsistent wide-man Glen Johnson.
