Watch as Colombia edge the Ivory Coast to move into pole position for top spot in Group C.
Colombia have moved into pole position to win Group C in the 2014 FIFA World Cup after a goal from FC Porto’s Juan Quintero proved to be enough to edge out the Ivory Coast in a pulsating match in Brasilia.
Quintero finished off a lightning quick counter attack, with star of the show James Rodriguez slipping a perfectly timed ball through to the substitute who finished with aplomb.
Rodriguez had given the Colombians the lead early on in the second half after getting across Didier Drogba and powerfully heading in a corner from Juan Cuadrado.
The Ivory Coast wouldn’t lie down, however, and made a game of it when AS Roma start Gervinho weaved inside two defenders before hitting a near-post shot that goalkeeper David Ospina should perhaps have done better with.
