Barcelona are said to be in the market for another headline gabbing signing this summer, much the way that Brazilian ace Neymar was last year, and have subsequently been linked with a move for the controversial Uruguayan for some time.
And now the Spanish news source is claiming that the extended contract that Suarez signed last December came with a release clause of €85m, but is significantly lower for foreign clubs, being in the region of around €65m.
The club are reportedly keen to team him up alongside Neymar and Lionel Messi in a bid to win their place back at the top of Spanish football, as well as make an impact in Europe following their secession of the crown to their rivals in Madrid.
However, with Liverpool returning to the Champions League themselves next season, Suarez is happy on Merseyside, but Barca are banking on him finding it difficult to return to the city after virtually dumping England out of the World Cup.
Suarez also has family in Barcelona, and will likely be tempted to play for a club that will compete for the highest honours on a consistent basis.
