Belgian club Zulte Waregem have signed English midfielder Chuks Aneke on a three-year contract from Arsenal.

The 20-year-old had been on Arsenal’s books since 2001, but he became a free agent this summer.

Aneke made just one first-team appearance for the Gunners – as a late substitute in a 3-1 League Cup win over Shrewsbury Town in 2011.

He spent loan spells at Stevenage, Preston North End and Crewe Alexandra.

Aneke, who has represented England at four different age levels, had two seasons at Crewe, scoring 24 goals in 82 games.

He has described his move to Zulte as “a great opportunity” and said that he thinks that Belgian football will suit his style of play.

Zulte have also announced the signing of 18-year-old Turkish sensation Sefa Isci.

Isci, who has penned a three-year deal, was linked with interest from Chelsea earlier this week.

He joins from Anderlecht, having rejected offers from abroad, reportedly including Benfica.

Isci represented Belgium at Under 15 and Under 18 levels, but he then switched allegiance to Turkey, who he has played for at Under 19 level.

Zulte finished fourth in the Belgian Pro League last season, 14 points behind champions Standard Liege.
