St Mary’s side target Feyenoord man.
Southampton boss Ronald Koeman has made an £8m bid for Feyenoord forward Graziano Pelle according to the Daily Mirror.
The Dutchman knows the Italian well from his time managing the De Kuip side, with the 28 year old Italian scoring 50 goals in two seasons at the Rotterdam side, and may feel that the powerful forward could be an ideal replacement for Rickie Lambert following his move to Liverpool earlier this summer.
Newly promoted Leicester City are also pursuing Pelle but one imagines that Koeman’s relationship with the player would aid his push to bring the striker to St Mary’s.
As well as bringing in new faces Koeman will continue to fight to keep hold of his star performers and will hold talks with England pair Adam Lallana and Luke Shaw as they return from their World Cup exploits.
Man United continue to track teenage left-back Shaw and skipper Lallana is said to want a secure a move to Liverpool.
No doubt former boss Mauricio Pochettino is also keen on bringing in a player or two from the south-coast side as he sets about improving his White Hart Lane squad.
