The versatile midfielder played a key part in the Roman side’s strong campaign under Rudi Garcia that saw them claim a second placed finish in the table, though he narrowly missed out on being included in Italy’s World Cup campaign this summer.

The 23-year-old is highly rated in the Italian capital and has naturally brought himself some attention thanks to his performances, and Roma have sought to wave away any talk of him making a summer move from the Stadio Olimpico.

Garcia and the club’s American owners aren’t interested in parting with one of their major assets – particularly one who is homegrown – as they look to build for a championship push next term.

Florenzi made 43 appearances across all competitions last season, bagging himself six goals and eight assists. After starting the season off well, Roma hit a mild dip in form that allowed Juventus to catch them up and eventually overtake them to take the Serie A crown.
