The Bayern star has been in typically excellent form since returning to the centre of the park (though we’ve had to squeeze him onto the right) and since the start of the tournament speculation linking him with a move to Old Trafford has refused to go away.
CM: Andrea Pirlo – Italy
The bearded master’s last stand in an Italy shirt caused everyone to go into overdrive about how sorely he’ll be missed. They’re not wrong either.
LM: Arjen Robben – Netherlands
Probably the player of the tournament so far. The veteran winger has terrorised defences in every game the Oranje has played so far, though his dubious penalty win in the final minute of the Mexico clash that tipped him to the front.
