The Nou Camp side will look to complete a ‘quick-fire’ deal and the Anfield’s star’s public apology is seen by many as one that was performed at the behest of the Catalan side who ordered such an act of contrition to be enacted before they would make their move for his services.
Suarez’s family live in Catalonia and this is seen by many as another motivating factor that may lead to a deal being struck with this source reporting that a deal could be agreed within days.
Real Madrid are said to have distanced themselves from such a move which would appear to leave Barcelona out on their own in pursuit of the Liverpool hot-shot.
Suarez netted 31 goals in 33 Premier League appearances last season and the Uruguayan’s form was key to Liverpool’s title challenge and the Merseyside outfit may have hoped that having secured a Champions League berth that the former Ajax man would remain, but that may now not prove the case.
Luis Suarez will be out of action until late October following the handing down of a four month ban after he was found to have bitten Italy defender Giorgio Chiellini.
