Barcelona are reportedly readying a big money offer for PSG centre-back Thiago Silva according to TuttoMercato.

New manager Luis Enrique is no doubt looking for a replacement for exiting veteran Carles Puyol and is ready to offer PSG €50m (£39m) for the Brazilian national team captain.

The 29 year old is set to be joined at the Parc des Princes by fellow countryman David Luiz and as such is not likely to be a player Laurent Blanc is looking to sell any time soon.

However Silva may be tempted by a move to the Nou Camp, perhaps believing his chances of fulfilling long term ambitions may prove tricky in the French capital.

There is no denying that PSG are dominating the French league but as yet they have failed to make a real impact at Champions League level.

PSG signed Thiago Silva from AC Milan in a £35m deal back in July 2012 and he led the club to back to back domestic titles, their first Ligue 1 successes in almost two decades.

Silva won a Serie A titles with AC Milan and will hope to lead Brazil in the World Cup final although he is suspended from their semi-final clash with Germany.
