Arsene Wenger has been strongly linked with an interest in 23 year old Italian forward Balotelli and may be open to allowing Costa Rica international Campbell to be used as bait in his pursuit of the former Man City man.
Campbell moved to the Emirates Stadium in the summer of 2011 but is still to play a single competitive fixture for the north London side and as such may be deemed expendable.
Last season the 22 year old helped Olympiakos to a domestic title, whilst also impressing in the Greek side’s Champions League run, before making a real impact at the World Cup finals.
Balotelli may well be keen on a Premier League return after a problematic return to the San Siro and could add some real quality to boost the Gunners attack.
Despite a number unsavoury incidents, both on and off the field of play, Balotelli has scored regularly for AC Milan, netting 26 goals in 43 Serie A fixtures.
