Queens Park Rangers manager Harry Redknapp is reportedly eyeing up a loan move for former Arsenal and Chelsea midfielder Lassana Diarra, according to the Daily Mail.

The newly-promoted side are in the market for further big-name signings before the start of the new season and have set their sights on the Frenchman, who played under Redknapp during their time at Portsmouth.

Diarra started his Premier League career at Chelsea, establishing himself as one of the club’s most promising young players, though he failed to break into the side on a regular basis and later joined rivals Arsenal.

His time at the Emirates Stadium was short-lived, however, as he linked up with Redknapp at Pompey, where he won the FA Cup before being snapped up by Spanish giants Real Madrid.

The 29-year-old, now of Lokomotiv Moscow, could be heading back to London for a third spell now if Rangers can get hold of him, though they may have to pay £6m for the player as the Russian giants are keen to bring in some money from his sale rather than sending him out on loan.

Redknapp is also thought to be looking at four more signings this summer, with a striker and a left-back also his priorities.
