Galatasaray could be looking to upset the Arsenal apple cart, according to the Express, with the Turkish champions reportedly having enquired after both Lukas Podolski and Joel Campbell from the Emirates Stadium.
The report suggests that the Gunners collectively value the duo at £28m, with a huge bid of £20m required for them to sell Podolski but a more modest £8m being demanded for Campbell.
This may come as some surprise, considering the impressive performances of the young Costa Rican forward both at the World Cup and last season for Olympiakos, although he still seems to be behind Yaya Sanogo in the pecking order at the Emirates Stadium.
Podolski, meanwhile, is far from an automatic starter for Arsene Wenger, but his versatility in being able to play either upfront or out wide will particularly endear him to his manager.
Wenger will also be loath to let any attacking options leave the club, with Campbell, Podolski and Sanogo providing the only senior cover and competition for lone striker Olivier Giroud.
One other issue surrounding any potential bid for Podolski would be the fact that the former FC Cologne forward seems to be an important galvanising force in the dressing rooms, whilst he is also extremely popular with the club’s supporters.
