Liverpool have accepted bids for a pair of defenders as Brendan Rodgers looks to trim his squad after securing a wealth of new talents according to the Daily Mirror.

24 year old England international Martin Kelly is set to secure a £1.5m move to Crystal Palace having seen Rodgers bring in a number of defensive signings.

Kelly was part of England’s Euro 2012 squad but has struggled with form and fitness in recent seasons.

Ivory Coast veteran Kolo Toure is set to join Turkish side Trabzonspor, also for a fee of £1.5m, after a less than spectacular debut season on Merseyside.

Toure moved to Liverpool last summer and was supposed to provide Rodgers with a strong experienced defensive option to turn to as a back-up but in reality the former Arsenal and Man City centre-back’s spell at the club was nothing short of disastrous.

Rodgers has brought in Atletico Madrid full-back Javier Manquillo, Southampton defender Dejan Lovren and is set to bring in Sevilla youngster Alberto Moreno having agreed a fee for the Spanish international.
