A host of Premier League clubs including Crystal Palace, Southampton and Sunderland want to take the 19-year-old from the Gunners for the season but, according to reports, Villa are the latest name to enter the frame.
Gnabry is being tipped for big things in the game, and set himself on his way by making 14 appearances for the Gunners last term. Fourteen of those apps were in the Premier League, and he even managed to bag himself a goal against Swansea City.
Gnabry penned a long term deal with the Gunners last December, but it is believed that the club are open to allowing him out on loan in order to gain some more significant first team experience.
However, Wenger clearly rates him highly, and it is possible that if he performs well he could find himself competing regularly at the Emirates next term.
“We signed Serge Gnabry because I believe that he will be a great player. He’s nearly there now, and competes for a regular place in the team in the Premier League,” he said.
Villa boss Paul Lambert is keen on adding the Stuttgart-born attacker to his ranks as he looks to add more depth to his options in that position, having been caught short there last term.
