Ajax star Daley Blind is reportedly preparing to complete his long awaited transfer to Man United and has already been spotted house-hunting in the north-west according to the Metro.

The 24 year old utility man is seemingly closing in on a move to Old Trafford, which this source claims will set Louis van Gaal back around £15m, and could well become Man United’s third high-profile signing of the summer.

Blind can effectively fill roles at left-back as well as defensive midfield and could be a very useful tool in either of those roles.

He could help to back-up new signing Luke Shaw and would offer a useful presence in the centre of the park and would certainly provide a better option in a holding midfield role than Marouane Fellaini, the Belgian looking out of place in the position under David Moyes.

Blind was a regular in van Gaal’s Dutch national team set-up and having won four successive Eredivisie titles he may feel the time is right to leave the Amsterdam club he has represented since the age of eight.

During his time at Ajax Blind has amassed 143 appearances and has 19 national team caps to his name.
