La Liga champions interested in Daniel Agger.

Liverpool centre back Daniel Agger is a transfer target for La Liga champions Atletico Madrid, report the Daily Star, with the Danish international seemingly set to get his wish in the shape of a move away from Anfield.
Agger has been linked with a move away from Liverpool in recent weeks, after reportedly having become frustrated with a lack of playing time last season – a situation that is unlikely to improve with Brendan Rodgers having secured the £20m signing of Croatian international Dejan Lovren from Southampton.
Indeed, the report suggests that Agger is desperate to move on from Anfield, with Lovren, Mamadou Sakho and Martin Skrtel likely to be ahead of Agger in the race for a place in the heart of the Reds’ defence.
Atletico are on the look out for a new centre back to compete with Miranda and Diego Godin for a first team place at the Vicente Calderon, with Diego Simeone likely to remain mindful of the potential for the Brazilian to still move on this summer.
Barcelona had been believed to be interested in signing the Danish international, but that is unlikely to materialise now that the Catalan side have secured the signing of Belgian Thomas Vermaelen from Arsenal, potentially opening the door for their La Liga rivals to pounce.
