Spanish football expert and transfer insider Guilleme Balague has tweeted an update on the transfer saga surrounding Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira.
The German international has been strongly linked with both Arsenal and Chelsea for much of this summer, and it is now thought that his club are pushing for him to be sold before the end of the transfer window deadline.
The 27-year-old is into the final year of his contract at the Bernabeu and could move on a free transfer next year, and Real will hope to bring in some money from his sale now if they can, with recent reports saying he has been offered to both London clubs.
A move for Khedira to sign for Arsenal reportedly broke down earlier this summer over wage demands, but a move could be on again as Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has seemingly admitted defeat in the race to sign him.
Khedira’s agent has denied that an agreement is already in place for him to move to the Emirates Stadium, but it could still be that the Gunners have the advantage over their rivals in this particular deal.
