Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur have all been keen on landing the Italy international in the past, but his current club president has tabled a new deal to convince Candreva to snub them.

The 27-year-old will meet with Claudio Lotito this week to discuss the prospect of increasing his annual wages from £900,000 to £1.6m, with the new contract keeping him at the Stadio Olimpico until 2019.

The Serie A club are desperate to keep hold of Candreva after the interest from England and are also willing to offer the winger the captaincy in order to further convince him to stay.

The Italian spent the past two seasons on-loan with Lazio from Udinese before making the switch permanent this summer.

Candreva was also a firm fixture in the Italy team at the 2014 World Cup and despite the nation’s poor showing was among the few that impressed for the Azzurri.

Whether or not the Gunners, Reds or Spurs need support in the right flank where he plays is also questionable, with several options for all three clubs on the flanks.
