Carragher believes the Gunners have fallen even further behind Chelsea.
Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher doesn’t think Arsenal can win the Premier League this season and claims the Gunners have fallen further behind Chelsea because the Blues brought in better players during the summer, the Metro reports.
Both sides spent heavily during the transfer window with Arsene Wenger bringing the likes of Alexis Sanchez and Danny Welbeck to the Emirates while Jose Mourinho brought Diego Costa and Cesc Fabregas from La Liga.
Although both clubs had busy summers, Carragher feels Chelsea did the better business, meaning Arsenal have fallen even further behind their London rivals.
”I said start of the season, I don’t think Arsenal will win the title. The way I think of Arsenal is similar to Chelsea, one finished third one finished fourth. They probably spent similar money in the summer,” he said.
”Why didn’t Arsenal get [Diego] Costa. Danny Welbeck might be a good signing. They need a left back, Chelsea go to Atletico Madrid and get Filipe Luis. They just do what they need to do.”
Chelsea have started the season in stunning form, winning all four of their Premier League games mainly thanks to the goals of Costa and the assists of Fabregas.
Arsenal, on the other hand, have just six points from their four games and currently sit 7th in the league table.
