Bundesliga giants keeping an eye on Gunners star.Bayern Munich are understood to be keeping an eye on Mesut Ozil’s situation at Arsenal with the view of bidding for him in the near future, according to the Daily Express.
The German international has not been at his best this season, leading to speculation that he could fall out of favour with manager Arsene Wenger and leave the Emirates Stadium just over a year after joining the club from Real Madrid.
Bayern boss Pep Guardiola is a fan of the player, who would fit in well into his style and tactical system at the Allianz Arena, though the Spanish tactician also has a number of other options current available to him in that position.
Still, Ozil may be tempted to make a return to his native Germany if his unhappy spell with Arsenal continues, though his form did pick up as he was played in his favoured number 10 role in last week’s 3-0 win away to Aston Villa.
Arsenal have a big game against north London rivals Tottenham Hotspur this weekend, and despite Ozil’s fine performance last week, Wenger has suggested that he won’t necessarily play in the same position again, which would surely put Bayern on alert.
“It is tempting to keep Ozil in that central role but I maintain again that he will play where he is needed for the balance of the team and that can change game by game,” the Gunners boss said.
