Former Red Devils boss David Moyes favourite to take Newcastle United job

The future of Alan Pardew at St James’ Park is in serious doubt as the Magpies languish at the bottom of the table having failed to win any of their opening six league games.

Newcastle owner Mike Ashley has said Pardew’s job is safe for the time being, but if results continue as they are it won’t be long until the Englishman is sacked.

If that does happen the Daily Star reports that Moyes is the favourite to take charge, with the 51-year-old having been out of a job since the Red Devils sacked him in April.
