Stamford Bridge goal machine vows to be ready to take on Arsenal this weekend.
Chelsea ace Diego Costa has declared himself fit to face Arsenal this weekend despite not being able to train…because of injury, the Daily Star reports.
The 25-year-old has started life in west London well, bagging eight goals in his first five games, which is made all the more impressive when taking his struggles with a hamstring injury into account.
He featured for the club in their midweek clash against Sporting Lisbon in the Champions League, and though his injury concerns are ongoing he has again declared himself fit enough to take on the Gunners in this weekend’s Premier League clash.
“There are a few niggles that are annoying me,” he said. “There are days when I do not train so I can prevent problems, but there are other days when I can train.
“I am certain I will play against Arsenal.”
Blues boss Jose Mourinho has called on Spain to leave him out of the side’s upcoming European qualifiers this month in order to give him time to rest, but the player also wants to play in those as well.
“There was already a war with the Brazil issue, and now I need to be left in peace to try and do things well for the national team.”
