Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea earned praise from a true goalkeeping legend after his match-winning save against Everton, from former Old Trafford hero Peter Schmeichel.

The Dane took to social networking site Twitter to congratulate de Gea on his superb display, saying it was great to see the Spaniard’s fine performance making the difference in United taking all three points at Old Trafford.
Regarded as one of the finest goalkeepers and even players in United’s history, praise from Schmeichel will no doubt be special for de Gea, who has had his critics at points this season, but who showed his superb ability in today’s crucial victory over the Toffees.
